The Fast-Track Marriage Process in Denmark

Step 1: Initial Consultation
We recommend scheduling a free consultation on our website ”DermarktoMarry.com.” During this session, you’ll gain a clear understanding of the process, and we can address any specific questions regarding your individual circumstances. You can also book directly on the Website without a free consultation.

Step 2: Document Preparation
We will provide you with a list of the preliminary documents you need to gather.

Step 3: Assistance with Documents
We’ll help you prepare the document list. For most marriages, a simple set of documents is required, but in some cases, additional paperwork may be necessary. We will guide you through this process.

Step 4: Application Submission
We will handle the arrangement, preparation, and submission of your application to the Agency for Family Law on your behalf. It’s important to ensure all documents are reviewed and corrected to avoid delays in the application process.

Step 5: Agency Response
The Agency for Family Law must respond to all new marriage applications within 5 working days. We will manage all communication with the Agency until your application is approved.

Step 6: Booking the Ceremony
Once your application is approved, we will book your ceremony at the town hall of your choice.

Step 7: Travel and Accommodation Advice
Our team will provide guidance on travel and accommodation arrangements in Denmark and answer any questions you may have regarding your wedding plans.

Step 8: The Wedding Ceremony
On the day of the ceremony, you’ll need to present your documents (Passport and Visa/Residency card/ ID card) at the town hall. The ceremony typically lasts under 10-15 minutes. Depending on your language preference, the registrar will conduct the ceremony in English, German, or Danish. You and your witnesses will then sign the necessary documents. If you don’t have witnesses, most town halls can provide them at no extra cost.

After the ceremony, you’ll receive two copies of your International Wedding Certificate free of charge. If you want our Apostille Service to legalize your marriage certificate for use in other countries, we’ll keep one copy of the Marriage Certificate to process the legalization. Once completed, your legalized certificates will be returned to you via UPS tracked delivery, typically within 7–10 business days.

Why Choose Denmark for Your Wedding?
Unlike many other countries, Denmark offers a straightforward, bureaucracy-free process for getting married. This is particularly convenient for non-European expats and international couples living in the EU. Most documents can be submitted by email or fax, saving you time and money. You won’t need to travel back to your home country to gather certificates and send them to the Danish municipality.

If you’re looking to expedite the process and receive your marriage certificate quickly, we highly recommend getting married in Denmark.
